Benefits of Synthetic Pest Control

By

The use of synthetic pesticides started in the United States in the 1930s and became quite widespread after World War II. When it comes to pest control, it is important to note that there are two types namely biological and chemical.

Biological control involves the use of pest’s natural biological enemies such as parasites and predators to control the pests. On the other hand, chemical control is the use of synthetic chemicals to control the pests.

Having pest control is important as it helps in reducing illness and cleaning duties. Moreover, it also helps us sleep at night better. The most popular method of controlling pests is the use of pesticides. Using pesticides can have serious consequences. Pesticides are generally thought to be poisonous which raises many health concerns.

Pests are generally a big nuisance in every way. They come in a variety of forms and sizes and it can at times seem quite impossible to get rid of them from our homes.

There are three measures of pest control measures namely the following:

Prevention

Prevention is much better than cure. When it comes to pests, preventing an infestation begins with determining and figuring the kind of pests that are invading your house. Pests generally tend to enter your home so the best way to prevent them is to maintain good hygiene. Cleanliness is a very important thing and it helps in keeping your house free of additional pests.

There are certain pests that do not require you to be dirty in order to thrive but pests mostly thrive in damp places.

Baiting

Another important and good measure of synthetic pest control is baiting. Baiting is probably one of the most effective and simple pet management measures. Baiting is good for certain types of pests. Things such as mosquitos, roaches, flies etc. are important when it comes to baiting. Baiting, generally, is ideal for bigger animals. Baits for different pests are available in nearly any home improvement store.

Fumigation

On the other hand, fumigation is a more serious and drastic approach to dealing with pesticides. It is sort of chemical warfare. In simple terms, fumigation is the introduction of noxious substances in the air that is serious to pests with the whole aim of killing any pesticides that breathe in the air. It is thought to be a very simple measure when it comes to dealing with household pests such as roaches, mites, mosquitos.

Fumigation takes a more serious pest control approach when it is used to deal with the other pesticides such as termites, rats, moles, and other pests.

There are many different types of naturally occurring pesticides. There are some that are toxic to others that are safe. In between, there are different varied substances that range in toxicity depending on the liquid, gas or granular.

When it comes to pests, it is important to note there are certain different types of pests namely the following:

  • Ticks
  • Flies
